NEW S.M.A.R.T. Camp Announced!

A new SMART Camp is now accepting registrations - and the best part about it is that it's FREE!  This SMART Camp is being generously sponsored by Time Warner Cable, as a part of the "Connect A Million Minds" initiative.  In partnership with Time Warner Cable, LASA Robotics is very excited to be able to host BEGINNER SMART Camps on Saturday, September 25 at 10:00am and 1:00pm - at completely no cost to the participants - at the Liberal Arts and Science Academy High School / LBJ High School campus.  Registration is required - sign up NOW! 

 

LASA Robotics SMART Camp Signup

Beginner session will provide an introduction to building robots with LEGO® Mindstorm NXT robotics kits.  Beginning Campers will learn how to use gears and motors, apply programming logic and understand sensors and how to apply them. A primary task will be to build a tank or rover bot and load basic to more advanced programs accomplishing simple to more complex tasks as appropriate to campers' skill level.

Advanced Camp, when offered, is for those who have already taken the beginner camp or who have experience with building and programming LEGO Mindstorm robotics kits. Campers will accomplish more advanced tasks and challenges.

Both camps are geared toward third through eighth graders. Camp Leaders:
- LASA Robotics Team members (high-school students)
- Team coaches &/or mentors
- Team parents
